Show Theme: Minerals of Massachusetts!

State mineral, gemstone, and fossil

Each year the show has exciting new finds to be discovered!  For 2014, we plan to bring special attention to the minerals of Massachusetts.  There are lots of them and we have included three of the most prominent ones in our show graphic thanks to the photography of Kevin Downey of
Well-Arranged Molecules

To represent the minerals you will find at the show, we have chosen to showcase the Massachusetts state mineral: Babingtonite.  This is a beautiful pic of black babintonites sit on top of a cluster of light green prehnite.

For our jewelry pic, we decided to go with the state gemstone: Rhodonite.  Rhodonite can produce amazing cabochons filled with an aray of pink and rose tones and many are quite showy with the addition of back manganese patterns.

To finish things off we needed a great fossil and what better than to use the states’s official fossil, the Dinosaur Track!  You will find many wonderful specimens like these from Massachusetts down at the show.

A special feature at this year’s show will be the Minerals of Massachusetts Exhibit.  This extensive display, put on by the Connecticut Valley Mineral Club, will be filled with minerals and fossils found within the the state.  You will be amazed at just how many different types can be found right here in Massachusetts.

The show will not be just be about Massachusetts,  we will have an abundant aray of items from all around the world.  Just like every year, our dealers will have a spectacular selection.  There is always something new to find. Be sure to take a look at who’s exhibiting at this year’s show.  Many dealers will have special items at the show, so be sure to get here when the doors open.  You don’t want to miss out on a great find!
